Since their inception, lithium-ion batteries have been widely used in many fields. Currently, they are not only widely used in electronic products such as mobile phones and chargers, but have also achieved breakthroughs in automotive power supplies. Given the current market demand for lithium-ion batteries, fast charging has become an important development direction. Therefore, the development and application of fast-charging lithium-ion batteries has become a crucial part of the overall development of lithium-ion batteries. Based on this understanding, we should carefully study the application and development of fast-charging lithium-ion batteries.

1. The principle and characteristics of fast charging for lithium-ion batteries

Research on fast-charging lithium-ion batteries has revealed that their structure and characteristics are primarily manifested in the following aspects:

(1) Fast-charging lithium-ion battery structure.

The structure of fast-charging lithium-ion batteries is similar to other cells, using a cathode structure. The key difference lies in the choice of negative electrode material. Unlike other batteries, which have a more complex overall architecture than ordinary lead-acid batteries, fast-charging lithium-ion batteries use an embedded structure to improve the charging efficiency. Both aspects can simultaneously meet the charging requirements of lithium-ion batteries.

For the same volume, polymer lithium-ion batteries have a larger capacity than lithium-ion batteries and do not have a memory effect (lithium-ion batteries still have a memory effect, albeit a relatively small one). Lithium polymer batteries are made of a gel-like material that can be easily molded into any shape. Furthermore, they do not contain harmful heavy metals, making them green batteries.
