I. Overview The Danfoss VLT2800 series frequency converter is a compact, multi-functional frequency converter. Its installation and maintenance are quick and easy. The user-friendly interface and function menu design make commissioning a breeze. Developed specifically for the low-power market, although the VLT2800 is a miniaturized design, it includes all the necessary components for a frequency converter, making it suitable for a wide range of production applications. II. Internal Schematic Diagram of the VLT2800 Frequency Converter The internal system block diagram of the VLT2800 series frequency converter is shown below: III. ERR15 Fault Principle: (Switch mode fault) 1. Explanation of ERR15 fault: Switching power supply mode fault. 2. Structure of the VLT2800 switching power supply: In the diagram above, the Power supply is the switching power supply section. The internal switching power supply of the frequency converter provides four power supplies: two +5VDC, +24VDC, and +18VDC. 3. Principle of ERR15 Fault: The +18VDC generated by the switching power supply is used to provide power for both the +15VDC and internal drive circuits. If either of these components malfunctions, the inverter will detect power instability, issue a command to stop working, send a fault lock command to the control card CPU, and display Err15 on the operation panel. This manifests as an inability to reset, requiring repair. IV. Causes of ERR15 and Inverter Maintenance Methods: Causes of ERR15: After analyzing several VLT2800 series inverters under different repair units and operating environments, the main cause of the fault is summarized as: harsh operating environment, leading to damage to electronic components on the circuit board. Inverter maintenance measures: Improve the operating environment, such as installing protective covers in humid and oily environments to prevent water vapor or oil fumes from directly entering the machine. Textile factories should pay attention to filtering and cleaning cotton lint to prevent it from being sucked into the machine and accumulating, affecting the circuit board.
