Abstract : This paper designs and manufactures a CNC grinding machine using PMAC as the CNC system. The grinding machine can grind not only external cylindrical surfaces but also internal holes, and even non-circular surfaces such as ellipses. Keywords : PMAC, CNC system, grinding linear motor I. Introduction High-speed precision grinding, as a new development direction in the machinery manufacturing industry, has received increasing attention and vigorous research from industry professionals both domestically and internationally in recent years. It can significantly improve grinding efficiency and the processing quality of ground workpieces, thereby reducing labor costs and achieving the goal of increasing productivity. The design and manufacture of high-speed precision grinding machines are prerequisites for realizing this precision grinding. The design of grinding machines using PMAC as the CNC system controller to control the feed motion of linear and servo motors will become the future trend of precision grinding machine development. The PMAC uses a Motorola DSP 56001/56001 digital signal processor as its CPU, which handles calculations for 1 to 8 axes. By linking 16 boards, it can control 128 axes. II.
