Abstract: High Speed Cutting (HSC) technology is considered an important technology in the 21st century. This paper introduces its principle, definition, technological characteristics, key techniques and applications. Some problems are pointed out. Keywords: high speed cutting; high speed electric spindle; CNC; linear motor 0 IntroductionDue to its high speed and high precision, high speed cutting can significantly improve machining efficiency, shorten machining time, and reduce machining costs. It can also achieve higher levels of surface finish and machining accuracy. Therefore, although high speed cutting technology has only been in development for about 20 years, it has been widely applied in fields including mold making, tool manufacturing, and the machining of complex curved surfaces and thin-walled parts in aerospace, having a significant impact on the manufacturing industry.
