Comparison of SPWM dedicated control chips and microprocessor applications

Abstract : This paper introduces several common dedicated control chips and microprocessors for pulse width modulation (SPWM): HEF4752, SI.E4520, MA818, 8XC196Mx, etc., and compares the performance characteristics and application scenarios of these chips. Finally, it concludes that, based on the design requirements and principles of the frequency converter system, and comprehensively considering factors such as the performance and structure of the general-purpose frequency converter, as well as the technical parameters, market mainstreamity, reliability, adaptability, and cost-effectiveness of the dedicated control chips and microprocessors, a reasonable selection of dedicated control chips and microprocessors for pulse width modulation (SPWM) should be made. PWM pulse width modulation technology is one of the key technologies of general-purpose frequency converters. The SPWM waveform modulation required in general-purpose frequency converters is usually accomplished by dedicated pulse width modulation processing chips. There are many different methods for generating three-phase sinusoidal SPWM waveforms. For different SPWM waveforms, the algorithms, frequency output ranges, waveform generation mechanisms, peripheral circuits, and other functional strengths of the modulation processing chips vary greatly. Currently, the most common dedicated control chips and microprocessors on the market include: dedicated pulse width modulation (SPWM) processing chips such as EF4752, SLF_A520, and MA818; and dedicated microprocessors for motor control such as the 8XC196Mx series, PD78366 series, SH7000 series, M37704, and M37705 series. Due to the development of these chip technologies, general-purpose frequency converter technology is constantly being updated and is increasingly trending towards software-based solutions. I.
