Abstract : The screw conveyor is the main transmission equipment before the butadiene briquetting machine. The special characteristics of the load of the screw conveyor determine the special characteristics of its control method. This paper discusses and analyzes the problems encountered in the operation of the screw conveyor and its load characteristics. By modifying the control method of the screw conveyor, the control method of the motor is made more suitable for the load characteristics of the screw conveyor, and the problems encountered in its operation are solved. Keywords : Variable frequency drive, V/F control, controller characteristic analysis, butadiene post-processing. The screw conveyor is an important equipment for conveying butadiene rubber granules. Its transmission relies on the regular vibration of the conveyor, with an amplitude of about 20 mm. Its vibration is formed by the rotation of the eccentric wheel under the motor, causing it to move up and down. Due to the special trajectory of the eccentric wheel, the motor speed is required to be constant at a certain value and adjustable according to the amount of transmission. Therefore, the motor adopts the variable frequency drive control method. This control method can accurately regulate the motor speed, and the variable frequency drive also plays a certain role in energy saving. Due to the unique characteristics of the eccentric wheel operation of the hoist, the use of frequency converters also presents its own unique challenges, namely the frequent issues of DC overvoltage and overcurrent (or overload). 1 Problem and Load Characteristic Analysis 1.1 Problem Upon normal startup of the hoist motor, the frequency converter enters its operating state. When the frequency is increased by turning the frequency adjustment knob upwards, the frequency converter trips after approximately 10 seconds at low frequencies (0-40Hz), displaying the number 3 (3 indicating overcurrent or overload). When the frequency is rapidly increased, the frequency converter also trips, displaying the number 5 (5 indicating DC overvoltage). Even after normal operation and shutdown, the frequency converter still displays the number 5 upon momentary tripping, indicating DC overvoltage.
