Abstract : This paper elucidates the importance of emergency power supply for rotary kilns, the current application status of emergency power supply for rotary kilns, and the existing problems. A new scheme for emergency power supply for rotary kilns—an integrated scheme combining inverter and UPS power supply—is proposed, and its application examples and effects are listed. Henan Jiaozuo Gujiang Cement Co., Ltd. has experienced multiple power outages and kiln shutdowns due to lightning strikes damaging the power grid. Two of these outages were particularly severe, causing deformation, warping at both ends, and crushing of refractory bricks in its 4.2 m x 65 m rotary kiln, resulting in substantial economic losses. Therefore, providing emergency power to ensure the safety of rotary kilns in the event of unexpected power outages is of paramount importance. 1.
