Research on Novel Control Methods in Chemical Industrial Parks

Abstract : This article introduces a new exploration of control methods in chemical industrial zones, employing frequency converters to control motor speed and thus flow rate. Compared to the previous control method of regulating flow through regulating valves, this method has significant advantages, improving the accuracy, sensitivity, and stability of the chemical control system. Keywords : Chemical control, frequency converter 1 Introduction Tar distillation and industrial naphthalene recovery are important chemical product production sections in steel enterprise coking plants. The normal operation and smooth production of these sections are directly related to the accuracy and reliability of instrument detection, especially the control of various flow rates. Previously, flow measurement in chemical industrial zones mostly used electric target flow meters, and the control system relied on regulating valves to control flow. Due to the corrosiveness and special nature of the fluid media in chemical industrial zones, regulating valves are prone to clogging, electric target flow meters have low stability and reliability, system failure rates are high, instrument maintenance is demanding, and production operations are significantly hampered, hindering production guidance and impacting normal production processes. Based on this, a novel control method for chemical industrial areas was explored. Firstly, the flow detection system was improved by replacing the original electric flow meter with an ultrasonic flow meter. Secondly, a frequency converter was used to control the pump operation, with the frequency converter frequency automatically controlled by a DCS, thereby achieving automatic flow regulation and eliminating the original regulating valve. Actual operation has proven that this control method has high reliability, good stability, and sensitive response, and has high practical application value.
