Abstract : Considering the ease of adjusting throughput, process parameters, and energy saving, this paper analyzes the operating conditions of the main pump of the Lunnan first station of the Lunku oil pipeline driven by a constant-speed motor. The feasibility of adopting a variable frequency speed control (VFD) drive scheme for the main pump of the Lunnan first station is also fully demonstrated. The results show that if the main pump of the Lunnan first station is retrofitted with VFDs, it can not only save a large amount of energy and reduce oil transportation costs, but also realize centralized control of the SCADA systems of the Lunku and Kushan lines. Overview[/b] With the improvement of the automation level of oil pipelines, VFDs, as the direct power source for driving high-efficiency oil pumps, are increasingly widely used. VFD systems have convenient interfaces with oil pipeline automation systems and can automatically adjust process parameters such as pump displacement and outlet pressure. Compared with constant-speed motors, VFD systems can save a large amount of energy and reduce oil transportation costs. The crude oil pipelines managed by the Tarim Oil and Gas Transportation Company include the Lunku Line (Lunnan-Korla) and the Kushan Line (Korla-Shanshan), both of which operate using bypass tanks. Currently, the design and research for a combined hydraulic system project for the two lines has begun. This project will eliminate the bypass tank operation at the Korla intermediate station, achieving fully closed-loop transportation. The current Lunnan oil transfer station on the Lunku Line has five main oil pumps, all driven by constant-speed motors. Their technical parameters are shown in Table 1.
