Abstract: This paper introduces the successful development of an electrical control system for the acrylic spinning line and backup line of Sinopec Anqing Branch by Hefei University of Technology, using hardware such as Siemens PLC and Emerson vector control frequency converter, and employing the open fieldbus Profibus-DP. Keywords: Acrylic spinning line; PLC; Frequency converter; Programming 1 Introduction With the advancement of technology, the requirements for production processes are becoming increasingly stringent, and the scale of production is expanding daily. The original spinning control system of Sinopec Anqing Branch suffered from a high failure rate and difficult maintenance due to aging control equipment and the termination of after-sales service from dedicated system manufacturers, making it unsuitable for modern spinning production requirements. To ensure high-quality, high-yield, and low-consumption acrylic spinning, and to promote the transformation of the enterprise's technical equipment and technological progress, Sinopec Anqing Branch commissioned and collaborated with Hefei University of Technology to develop an electrical control system for its acrylic spinning line and backup line. The production line adopted the two-step wet spinning patented technology introduced from Sterling Corporation of the United States, which was built on line 5# in 1995 and expanded to line 6# at the end of 1999.
