Abstract: Based on the conventional control of elevators using PLC and frequency converter, this paper utilizes the pulse signal generated by a rotary encoder to form position feedback through the frequency division output of a dedicated elevator frequency converter, thereby realizing digital displacement control of the elevator. Through PLC programming, precise control of floor counting, parking leveling, and arbitrary setting of deceleration distance are achieved, improving the system's reliability and leveling accuracy. Keywords : Elevator; PLC; Frequency converter; Position control 1 Introduction With the rapid development of the national economy and the improvement of people's material lives, elevators have become indispensable vertical transportation equipment in high-rise buildings and also a means of transportation in low-rise buildings. Elevator control systems combining programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and variable frequency drive (VVD) speed regulation technology are widely used by small and medium-sized elevator manufacturers due to their reliable operation, convenient use and maintenance, strong anti-interference ability, and excellent speed regulation performance. However, the control of elevator deceleration and leveling in such systems mostly still relies on magnetic switches installed in corresponding positions inside the shaft. Adjusting the deceleration distance is extremely inconvenient, and once the position of the magnetic plate is determined, the same deceleration distance is used between floors with different spacing. Furthermore, the control system cannot accurately detect the actual position of the elevator during operation in real time, posing certain safety hazards. This design eliminates the deceleration magnetic shielding plate from the original design, feeding back the frequency-divided pulse output signal from the elevator-specific frequency converter to the PLC. This not only allows for arbitrary setting of the elevator's deceleration distance but also achieves closed-loop control of elevator speed and displacement without adding hardware, improving system reliability and leveling accuracy.
