Application of high voltage frequency converters in steelmaking dust removal fans

Abstract : This article, based on actual working conditions in steelmaking production, introduces the application of high-voltage frequency converters produced by Beijing Lide Huafu Co., Ltd. in steelmaking dust removal fans.

1 Introduction

Our plant currently has two 60-ton DC electric arc furnaces. The smelting process generates a large amount of flue gas. This flue gas is high in temperature and contains flammable gases and metal particles. Therefore, it must be cooled and purified before being discharged to the chimney by induced draft fans. Each furnace requires a dust removal system. The airflow of the dust removal fans is adjusted according to the steelmaking process. During the charging, molten iron addition, sample preparation, tapping, and plugging stages, the flue gas volume is very small, and a large airflow is not required for dust removal. During oxygen blowing, the flue gas volume is at its maximum, requiring the largest airflow. The flue gas volume varies widely and frequently throughout the entire smelting process, presenting significant potential for energy savings. Our plant uses high-voltage frequency converters manufactured by Beijing Harsvert Company, which have resulted in significant energy savings and considerable economic benefits.
