Abstract : Oil pumps are major energy-consuming equipment in oil depot production operations. Previously, flow rate was generally regulated by controlling the opening of the pump outlet valve, resulting in significant energy consumption before and after the valve. We applied a high-voltage variable frequency speed control system manufactured by Beijing Leadway Technology Co., Ltd. to the 6kV 630kW oil pump unit at the Nanyi Oil Depot. By changing the pump speed to regulate flow rate, this system reduced oil transportation energy consumption, saved electricity, and improved the process.
