Application of frequency converter technology in solar air conditioning

Abstract : This paper elucidates the principle of solar air conditioning and the role of inverter technology in solar air conditioning. Based on the analysis of the working principle of solar air conditioning, the concept and working principle of variable frequency solar air conditioning are proposed. Keywords : Inverter; Solar air conditioning 1 Introduction Since the 1970s, solar energy utilization technology has developed rapidly, and solar air conditioning technology has emerged accordingly. In the 1990s, vacuum tube collectors and chlorinated lithium absorption chillers entered the market in large quantities, which further promoted the development of solar air conditioning. Solar air conditioning has the following advantages: the stronger the solar radiation and the hotter the weather, the more energy the solar air conditioner has, and the better the cooling effect. In summer, the hot water temperature of vacuum tube collectors is above 85℃, which can fully meet the needs of solar air conditioning. Many research institutions, universities and enterprises have invested human and material resources in developing solar refrigeration (air conditioning) machines, most of which are small-scale absorption refrigeration prototypes. At the same time, variable frequency speed control technology has also been continuously improved with the progress of power electronics technology, microelectronics technology and computer technology. Variable frequency drive (VFD) technology features good control performance, high operating efficiency, small size, and convenient operation, especially in the control of pumps and fans, where it has excellent energy-saving effects. As the proportion of energy consumption in total residential electricity consumption is increasing, and the fluid transport energy consumption of pumps and fans accounts for a large proportion, combining VFD technology with solar energy systems is of great significance for reducing the overall energy consumption of air conditioning systems, improving system operating efficiency, and saving residential electricity. Against this backdrop, this paper proposes the concept, basic structure, and working principle of variable frequency solar air conditioning. 2. Working Mode and VFD Application of Solar Air Conditioning Solar air conditioning mainly operates in two ways: First, it first achieves photoelectric conversion, and then uses electricity to drive a conventional compression refrigeration unit for cooling.
