Abstract : This paper introduces the application of Delta ES series PLCs, VFD inverters, and human-machine interfaces in the electrical control of strip winding and coil winding machines. Keywords : PLC, inverter, touch screen 1. Introduction Delta ES series programmable logic controllers (PLCs) feature a compact design, excellent expandability, and powerful computing capabilities. Therefore, this series of PLCs can meet a variety of automation control needs. Combined with the cost-effective VFD inverter and PWS500S display screen, it has strong adaptability in solving users' practical industrial automation problems. 2. Electrical Control System for Strip Winding and Coiling Machines The electrical control system for strip winding and coil winding machines is similar, and its composition is as follows: As shown in Figure 1, the electrical control system mainly consists of a programmable logic controller (PLC), a display screen, and an inverter. The PLC completes all data calculation and processing and the logic control of the entire machine's process actions. The display screen allows for the setting and display of process parameters such as cotton roll length, pre-set length, total output, shift output, and roll exit speed. It also features a fault alarm display function. The frequency converter, through communication with the PLC, controls the main motor to achieve low-speed, high-speed, and jogging slow-speed processes.
