1. Introduction The rapid advancements in power electronic devices and microcomputer chips have provided a solid foundation for the development of frequency converters. Frequency converters are becoming increasingly widely used, smaller in size, more powerful in function, and more affordable for users. Especially for small-capacity frequency converters, miniaturization and low price are becoming increasingly important, provided that performance is reliable and functions meet requirements. Sanken's latest mini frequency converter, SAMCO-e, is a high-performance, multi-functional, quiet, and miniature frequency converter developed and manufactured to meet this user demand. It features automatic energy-saving functions, standard RS-485 communication, V/f separation, and other functions. Its reasonable structural design, top-in/bottom-out power wiring in the main circuit, and moisture-proof control board technology allow it to adapt to harsh environments and facilitate operation, effectively achieving the miniaturization characteristics of a frequency converter. 2. Main Functions of the SAMCO-e Series Mini Frequency Inverter The SAMCO-e series mini frequency inverter is developed and designed based on the Sanken SAMCO-Vm05 frequency inverter. It rigorously screened the functions of the SAMCO-Vm05, retaining the main practical functions while removing some functions unnecessary for small-capacity inverters. It also added functions such as potentiometer adjustment on the operation panel and a built-in braking unit, making it more versatile and practical. 2.1 Standard Built-in PID Control Function The SAMCO-e series mini frequency inverter features a standard built-in PID control function, providing two analog signal input or feedback channels: Vr(F (0-5V or 0-10V voltage input or feedback signal)) and IRF (4-20mA standard current input or feedback signal), making closed-loop control very convenient. The PID structure block diagram is shown in Figure 1 below, with a sampling period of 10ms.
