Abstract: This paper introduces a speed control commutation circuit for a switched reluctance linear motor. Its electrical switching frequency automatically tracks the mechanical frequency, improving the motor's operating frequency and efficiency. Keywords: Switching circuit; Speed ​​control; Circuit analysis. I developed a switched reluctance linear motor and applied it to a straight-blade cutting machine in garment machinery. Among many switching circuit control methods, using speed signals to control switch switching is a better solution through comparison. This paper analyzes its control scheme and control circuit. [b]1 Control Scheme[/b] The control principle of this linear motor is shown in Figure 1. Two alternately conducting switches K1 and K2 control the on/off state of two coils L1 and L2, respectively, thus changing the motor's direction of motion. The opening and closing of K1 and K2 are controlled by signals Q1 and Q2 through a drive circuit. The selection of signals Q1 and Q2 has a significant impact on motor performance. In previous linear oscillating motors, Q1 and Q2 were generated by a self-excited oscillator. Its constant oscillation frequency was difficult to match the system's inherent mechanical frequency. Since the system's mechanical frequency is also related to the load, it affects its efficiency. If the commutation of Q1 and Q2 is determined by the position of the oscillator, Q1 and Q2 will commutate when the oscillator reaches the upper or lower endpoint. However, the load and endpoint position are uncertain. If Q1 and Q2 are determined by the shaft speed, Q1 and Q2 will commutate when the shaft reaches the upper or lower endpoint and the speed approaches zero. This ensures that the mechanical frequency of the shaft matches the electrical frequency and phase of the control circuit, maximizing system efficiency. For the speed signal selection, a permanent magnet can be installed on the motor shaft, and a speed-measuring coil can be installed on the stator.
