Integrated Application of PLC, Human-Machine Interface, and Frequency Converter in Machine Tool Control

Abstract : A high-performance machine tool electrical control system was designed and implemented using Modicon TsxMicro series PLC, XBT F024110 color keyboard terminal (human-machine interface) and KVFC series frequency converter. The system composition and control implementation method are discussed in detail. Keywords : PLC; human-machine interface; frequency converter; high performance In 1988, our factory imported two SFM7702 ultra-precision machines from West Germany, which were used to process special bearings, and to ultra-precision grind the outer ring and spindle of integral double groove ball bearings. These two machine tools have a high degree of automation and excellent system performance, but after many years of use, electrical failures have become more and more frequent, maintenance costs have become higher and higher, and production efficiency has become lower and lower. Therefore, it was decided to modify the electrical system of the two machine tools. [b]1 Overview of the main functions of the machine tool[/b] This machine tool is a device integrating mechanical, electrical and hydraulic control. Its main functions are: (1) Automatic loading and unloading. (2) Ultra-precision machining. (3) Stepless speed regulation of guide wheel and swing motor. (4) Operation screen settings, display, diagnosis, operation functions, etc. (5) PLC control. [b]2 Design, installation and commissioning of electrical system transformation Taking the spindle ultra-precision machine as an example 2.1 System composition and its functions 2.1.1 System logic drive control function[/b] The schematic diagram is shown in Figure 1. [b]2.1.2 PLC hardware configuration[/b] According to the machine tool operation needs and control requirements, Schneider Modicon Tsx Micro series PLC was selected.
