Abstract : This paper mainly introduces the working principle of frequency converters, how to achieve variable voltage and variable frequency, and discusses the problems and solutions that occur during frequency descent. It also introduces some specific applications of SIEMENS frequency converters in steel plants. Compared with traditional control methods, frequency conversion control has many advantages, better meeting the needs of production processes, improving product quality, reducing equipment failure rates, and saving equipment maintenance costs. Keywords : Inverter, Pulse Width Modulation, Encoder, Fieldbus, Frequency Conversion 1 Introduction As is well known, compared with DC motors, AC motors have many advantages such as simple structure, low price, simple use and maintenance, low failure rate, and low cost, making them dominant in the field of electric drives. Moreover, frequency conversion can achieve the same speed regulation performance as DC motors. Compared with the former, "AC-AC frequency conversion" requires fewer components and has more advantages, but currently, the most widely used is still "AC-DC-AC frequency conversion." "AC-DC-AC frequency conversion" involves first rectifying a fixed-frequency single-phase or three-phase alternating current into direct current, and then "inverting" the direct current into a frequency-adjustable single-phase or three-phase current. The key technology is "inversion." 2.1.1 Inversion Principle For details, please click: Frequency Conversion Technology and its Application in Steel Plants
