Abstract : This paper applies the target power consumption energy-saving technology for pumping stations to accurately determine the power-saving potential of pumping stations and realize quantitative energy-saving control of pumping stations. An application example of this technology in the Harbin No. 3 Water Plant is also given. Keywords : Pumping station target power consumption energy-saving technology application 1 Introduction Water pumps account for a large portion of the energy consumption of water delivery pumping stations. For such a large power-consuming area, accurately determining its power-saving potential and modifying pumping stations with good energy-saving potential to avoid the problem of inadequate energy-saving modification effects due to extensive energy-saving estimation is very important. This paper discusses the application of the target power consumption energy-saving technology for pumping stations, which can accurately calculate the energy-saving effect of pumping stations and implement quantitative energy-saving control. 2 Target Power Consumption Energy-Saving Technology for Pumping Stations 2.1 Overview of Pumping Station Control Technology Controlling the parameters of the pumping station (such as flow rate, pressure, or liquid level) is crucial. One purpose is to meet the process requirements of production and minimize energy waste. Currently, commonly used methods include: first, using speed control devices to adjust the pump speed to meet process requirements; second, using a combination of large and small pumps to meet requirements under different operating conditions; third, valve control; fourth, adjusting the pump blade angle; and fifth, adjusting through backflow or discharge. Years of practice have shown that while various methods can achieve the adjustment and control required to meet process conditions, different control methods, or even different control strategies under the same control method, can lead to different power consumption results—some consume more power, others less. Here, we have a method and mode with the lowest (optimized) power consumption. To obtain this optimal result, it is necessary to conduct a quantitative study of the power consumption factors of the pumping station. The reason for mentioning "quantitative" rather than "definite" is that only quantitative analysis can determine the economic viability and feasibility of energy-saving renovations. This is the essence of quantitative energy-saving technology for pumping stations.
