Abstract : This paper uses A-B Company's PLC5 as the main control component, combined with a PowerFlex70 frequency converter, PanelView900 touch screen, and host computer to construct an electroplating production line control system. Practice has proven that the electroplating production line constructed using A-B Company products is reliable and easy to operate. Keywords : Electroplating, PLC5, frequency converter, touch screen 1 Introduction to Electroplating Production Process The electroplating production line uses a dedicated overhead crane, with a liftable hook mounted on the crane frame. Both the crane and the hook are driven by a motor. The forward and backward movement of the crane and the lifting and lowering of the hook are positioned by corresponding limit switches (SQ). The production line currently has three slots and can be easily expanded according to production needs and process requirements. The process requirements are as follows: The workpiece is placed in the plating tank, electroplated for 300 seconds, then lifted out, paused for 29 seconds to allow the plating solution to flow back into the tank, then immersed in a recovery tank for 28 seconds, lifted out and paused for 16 seconds, then rinsed in a clean water tank for 30 seconds, finally lifted out and paused for 16 seconds before the crane returns to its original position. This completes the entire electroplating process for one workpiece. The electroplating production line is required to operate in both jog and automatic cycle modes. The electroplating production process flow is shown in Figure 1. Control System Introduction The electroplating production line control system uses control equipment from Company A-B, including a PLC5, a PowerFlex70 frequency converter, a PanelView900 touch screen, a host computer, and limit switches.
