Abstract : This paper introduces the characteristics of fans and the energy-saving principle of frequency conversion. The application of high-voltage frequency converters to fans in thermal power plants significantly reduces the plant's power consumption rate and achieves substantial energy savings. Keywords : High-voltage frequency converter, ventilation fan, energy saving 1 Introduction The power consumption of auxiliary equipment in thermal power plants is substantial, resulting in a plant power consumption rate of approximately 8%. Reducing this rate is a way to alleviate power shortages and improve the economic efficiency of power plants. Fan power consumption accounts for a significant proportion of the plant's power consumption. Traditional fan airflow regulation uses baffle adjustment, resulting in significant power loss. Variable frequency speed control technology can save a considerable amount of energy. This paper analyzes the frequency conversion retrofit of the ventilation fans in Xinxiang thermal power plant and its energy-saving effects.
