Abstract : This paper focuses on the performance characteristics and energy-saving effects of dedicated frequency converters for mine hoists and submersible electric pumps, and provides examples. Keywords : Frequency converter, four-phase limit feedback braking, energy saving 1 Introduction Currently, most frequency converters sold on the market are general-purpose frequency converters, and many are imported foreign brands. As general-purpose frequency converters, they are designed for general use, but their functions are numerous and complex, and they cannot fully adapt to certain on-site production equipment. These devices lack the required functions, and the numerous and complex functions are not needed for debugging. Of course, developing dedicated frequency converters for on-site production equipment is not an easy task. It requires not only superb skills and technology in frequency converter design but also a deep understanding of production processes and equipment to design a dedicated frequency converter suitable for a specific production equipment. Furthermore, developing such products requires substantial financial support. To meet market needs, through arduous efforts, we have successfully developed dedicated frequency converters for mine hoists and submersible electric pumps. 2. Application of Specialized Frequency Converters for Mine Hoists The specialized frequency converter for mine hoists is a new type of product developed and manufactured by our company based on the requirements for the transformation of coal mine electromechanical equipment and the operating characteristics of hoists, building upon the foundation of ordinary frequency converters. Since its market launch, this product has achieved excellent economic and social benefits in terms of stepless smooth speed regulation, stable and reliable operation, and energy saving, and has been widely favored and praised by users. The most significant feature of this type of frequency converter is its requirement for four-way operation, enabling it to correctly and reasonably handle energy feedback issues during heavy load descent and emergency stops. This is also the key focus and advantage of this type of frequency converter. Based on this characteristic, our company's engineering and technical personnel have successfully solved this problem by employing regenerative braking, energy-consumption braking, or supercapacitor absorption technology. We are currently the only domestic manufacturer capable of feeding regenerated electricity back to the grid, further enhancing the energy-saving effect of this type of frequency converter.
