FLANN nonlinear correction for vibratory cylinder pressure sensors

Abstract: A function chain neural network (FCL) method is used to correct the nonlinearity of a vibrating cylinder pressure sensor. Compared with the backpropagation (BP) algorithm, the FCL has a clearer structure, simpler algorithm, and easier convergence. This paper introduces the principle and modeling method of using the FCL to solve the nonlinearity of the vibrating cylinder pressure sensor. Simulation results demonstrate the feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed method. Keywords: Function chain neural network, nonlinearity, vibrating cylinder 0 Introduction There are various methods for nonlinear correction of sensors, and they have all been applied to varying degrees. Traditional linearization methods for nonlinear sensors involve hardware compensation. This method is difficult to achieve full-range compensation, and the drift of the compensation hardware affects the accuracy of the entire system, resulting in low reliability, limited measurement range, and low accuracy. Currently, researchers at home and abroad have studied various polynomial fitting correction methods. When using linear fitting, the fitting accuracy is low and usually cannot meet the requirements; fitting with higher-order curves is too complex and difficult to implement. In recent years, neural network methods have been developed extensively, mostly using the BP algorithm. Theoretically, a BP network with hidden layers can approximate any nonlinear function. This method is highly adaptable and accurate. However, the BP network has a complex structure, many adjustable weights, slow learning speed, and is prone to getting trapped in local minima. Therefore, this paper adopts a sensor linear correction method based on Function Chain Neural Network (FLANN), which is simpler and clearer than the BP algorithm. Simulation experiments on a vibrating cylinder pressure sensor demonstrate that this method is simple, easy to implement, and achieves ideal results.
