Abstract : With the widespread application of frequency converters, more and more problems are encountered in their use. This article discusses the commonly used parameter settings and common problems encountered in the use of frequency converters. Keywords : Frequency converter; Parameters; Commissioning With the increasing maturity of frequency conversion technology, the application of AC speed control systems is becoming more and more widespread. Using frequency conversion speed control can improve the control accuracy, production efficiency, and product quality of production machinery, facilitate the automation of the production process, give AC drive systems excellent control performance, and have significant energy-saving effects in many production applications. This article summarizes the common problems encountered in the use of frequency converters and their parameter settings. 1. Parameter Setting of Frequency Converters Parameter setting of frequency converters is very important during commissioning. Improper parameter settings can fail to meet production needs, leading to starting and braking failures, frequent tripping during operation, and in severe cases, burning out power modules such as IGBTs or rectifier bridges. Different types of frequency converters have different numbers of parameters. Generally, single-function frequency converters have about 50-60 parameters, while multi-function frequency converters have more than 200 parameters. Regardless of the number of parameters, it's not necessary to readjust all parameters during commissioning; most can remain unchanged at factory settings. Only parameters whose factory settings are unsuitable for field control should be reset during operation. These include external terminal operations, analog operations, base frequency, maximum frequency, upper limit frequency, lower limit frequency, start-up time, braking time (and method), thermal electronic protection, overcurrent protection, carrier frequency, stall protection, and overvoltage protection. Adjust other parameters only if the operation is unsuitable. For details, please click: Inverter Parameter Settings and Common Field Problems
