Research on Fully Digital Three-Phase Voltage-Type PWM Rectifier

Abstract: This paper establishes a voltage-source PWM rectifier model and presents a DSP-controlled three-phase voltage-source PWM rectifier control system. The hardware composition is detailed, the software structure is discussed, and experimental results are given. Keywords: PWM rectifier, DSP, vector control 1. Introduction: Traditional phase-controlled rectification suffers from low power factor and high harmonics. High-frequency PWM rectification technology, however, has attracted much attention due to its high power factor, sinusoidal input waveform, ability to feed energy back to the grid, significantly reduced demand for passive filter components such as capacitors and inductors, and good dynamic performance. Practical solutions for PWM rectifiers are a research hotspot. Among the two methods of PWM rectifier control—direct current control and indirect current control—indirect current control is based on the steady-state voltage balance relationship of the PWM rectifier. This method has good static characteristics, is simple and convenient to control, and does not require detection of the input AC current, but its dynamic response is slow and its stability is poor. In particular, the overshoot current is close to 100% during the transition process. Therefore, currently practical rectifiers all use a direct current control scheme with dual closed-loop cascade control (inner current loop and outer voltage loop).
