Abstract : This paper introduces the application of variable frequency vector control (VFD) to achieve drive control in a battery zinc plate production line. The structure of the VFD vector control system and its basic principles of application in casting machines, rolling mills, and center coiling are described. The basic debugging steps of the control system and the debugging of the PLC program are given. Finally, the precautions for production trial operation are introduced. Keywords : VFD; Vector control; Production line; Battery; Zinc plate 0 Introduction Vector VFDs directly control torque based on modern control theories such as magnetic field monitoring and intelligent control. Their built-in true current vector control function enables high torque control and high-precision speed performance. Due to the adoption of the latest magnetic field monitoring, intelligent control, and anti-interference control in the VFD design, the control performance is significantly improved. VFD vector control achieves rapid torque response and accurate torque control through decoupling control of motor flux current and torque current. It can achieve wide-range speed regulation with high control accuracy and is suitable for many applications that were previously only able to use DC drives, such as papermaking, metallurgy, and textiles. This article introduces the application of vector VFDs in the metallurgical industry, specifically the VFD control system of a battery zinc plate production line. This production line is mainly used for the production of zinc cylinders and zinc ingots for batteries. Molten zinc is continuously cast and then pressed into finished products in one pass through a rolling mill. These are then sent to subsequent processes for punching into zinc ingots, and finally stamped into finished zinc cylinders. The main specifications are determined by the width of the finished zinc plates (e.g., 100, 110, 120, 165, 170, 185, 200 mm, etc.), which determines the configuration of the transmission power. It mainly consists of a casting machine, idler rollers, a rolling mill, and an electrical control system.
