Abstract: This paper mainly introduces the composition of an industrial boiler temperature detection and control system; the development of the human-machine interface; and the application of VB in object-oriented programming. Keywords: Automatic control, industrial PC, temperature detection, industrial boiler RACK MOUNT PC-500 Introduction An industrial PC (IPC) is a PC used in industrial or related applications. Compared with general computer applications, industrial PCs have certain unique characteristics. First, the environment is usually harsh, with industrial sites often experiencing dust, high temperatures, humidity, noise, impact, vibration, electromagnetic interference, radiation, corrosion, and harsh outdoor conditions. Second, the computer must be able to operate continuously and without failure for extended periods; problems can have serious consequences. Third, it must be able to be repaired quickly in case of a malfunction. These requirements make industrial PCs completely different from ordinary commercial PCs. In the detection and control system described in this article, we use the RACK MOUNT PC-500, a rack-mountable 19-inch industrial-grade computer manufactured by NORCO, to replace the commercial PC. It can withstand various harsh industrial environments, is vibration-resistant, high-temperature resistant, dustproof, and electromagnetic radiation resistant. Its all-steel chassis is robust and durable, meeting the EIA RS-310C 19-inch rack-mountable IPC industrial-grade standard.
