Abstract: This paper focuses on the monitoring of air compressors and proposes using PLC to control mining air compressors, replacing traditional electrical control methods to achieve higher economic efficiency and safety performance.

I. Overview
A programmable logic controller (PLC) is a new type of general-purpose control device that integrates traditional relay control technology, computer control technology, and communication technology. Designed specifically for industrial control, it boasts a range of advantages, including powerful functionality, versatility and flexibility, high reliability, good environmental adaptability, simple programming, ease of use, small size, light weight, and low power consumption. In recent years, with the increasing maturity of PLCs, more and more equipment is adopting PLC controllers to replace traditional relay control, achieving significant economic benefits.
Air compressors are one of the four essential pieces of fixed-roof equipment in mining production. They produce compressed air to power equipment such as rock drills, pneumatic loading machines, and other pneumatic tools. Their safe operation directly impacts the output and efficiency of coal mine production. Factors affecting safe operation include overheating, overpressure, water shortage, and oil shortage of the air compressor.
With the modernization of coal mines, the requirements for mining equipment are becoming increasingly stringent, and building inherently safe mines has become the core of coal mine production and construction. Mining equipment is constantly being updated and improved, with reliability, ease of operation, monitorability, and ease of maintenance now being the most basic requirements.
