Abstract: This paper introduces the structure and function of a computer-controlled intelligent fuzzy system for a medium plate heating furnace, and discusses the control situation and characteristics of applying intelligent fuzzy control methods to the combustion process of this furnace. Real-time control results show that this control approach is feasible and can achieve satisfactory control results. Keywords: Medium plate heating furnace; Computer; Intelligent fuzzy control I. Introduction In the steel industry, the medium plate heating furnace is one of the main energy-consuming equipment in the rolling mill. Recently, with the high energy consumption, energy conservation and the development of new energy sources have attracted increasing attention. Therefore, how to rationally solve the combustion problem of the heating furnace and improve fuel utilization is of great significance for reducing energy consumption, reducing billet oxidation loss, improving heating quality, and thus further improving the economic benefits of the entire rolling mill production process. The combustion control of the medium plate heating furnace adopts conventional control theory and methods, which requires knowing its accurate mathematical model. However, the medium plate heating furnace is a large-inertia, pure-time-delay, nonlinear multivariable system. Due to its complex structure, the mutual coupling between variables, and the influence of various disturbance factors, it is difficult to establish an accurate mathematical model. For control systems where general linear regulation methods are insufficient, and where fuel calorific value and residual oxygen detection are difficult, maintaining the optimal air-fuel ratio can be achieved by employing intelligent fuzzy control technology based on easily detectable physical quantities such as flow rate, pressure, and temperature. This control, using artificial intelligence methods, can automatically search for and track the optimal air-fuel ratio, achieving optimal combustion and comprehensive automatic control.
