Because low-voltage switchgear is ubiquitous in production sites, public places, and residential areas, it can be said that wherever electrical equipment is used, low-voltage equipment should be provided. Approximately 80% of China's electricity is supplied through low-voltage switchgear. The development of low-voltage switchgear stems from the materials industry, low-voltage electrical appliances, processing technology and equipment, infrastructure construction, and people's living standards. Therefore, the level of low-voltage switchgear reflects a country's economic strength, scientific and technological progress, and living standards. Before the 1970s, my country's low-voltage switchgear industry was largely stagnant, mainly due to limited product variety, poor quality, low technical parameters, outdated processes and equipment, unchanging product types, and outdated standards (at that time, there was only one standard, JB617). Low-voltage switchgear: Currently, manufacturers of low-voltage power distribution products in my country are mainly distributed in East China, South China, and North China, particularly concentrated in the Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Guangdong, Fujian, and Beijing-Tianjin areas. These regions have rapid economic development, resulting in relatively higher production capacity and product levels. In the Northwest and Northeast regions, except for a few individual companies, the overall level is relatively lower. Currently, my country has independently developed more than a dozen types of power distribution equipment, including fixed panel type, fixed partition type, withdrawable type, mixed type, and intelligent type, with product design reaching the international level of the mid-1990s. 2. Busbar products: The processing and production technology of busbar products is relatively simple, so manufacturers that can produce low-voltage switchgear can generally also produce busbars. There are also some manufacturers that specialize in busbar production. Due to different economic conditions in different regions, the distribution of enterprises and output value vary greatly. In coastal and economically developed areas, busbar manufacturers started earlier, developed faster, and are more numerous. For example, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Shanghai, Guangdong and other places, but because the product has low technical content, the requirements for factory technology and processing equipment are also low. In addition, the investment is small and the results are quick, so the strength of manufacturers is uneven, which is reflected in the product quality gap. In general, the level of my country's bus trunking products (except for a few joint ventures) is still far behind that of foreign products. 3 Problems Although my country's low-voltage switchgear has greatly improved in terms of output and output value, the variety and performance of products are still far from meeting the market demand. On the one hand, there is fierce competition among several types of products, and on the other hand, some product markets are occupied by foreign manufacturers. According to industry experts, the main problems in my country's low-voltage switchgear industry are as follows: (1) The product structure is not reasonable enough. Low-voltage switchgear should have the characteristics of multiple levels and multiple varieties. The so-called multiple levels means that the same type of products should have high, medium and low differences in technical performance, parameters, functions, structure and installation, so as to meet the needs of different industries. Multi-variety refers to products that adapt to different usage environments, such as moisture-proof, dust-proof, corrosion-proof, and waterproof products used in the field. Currently, most of the products that my country can supply are still products used in general environments. There is basically no product with higher parameters, fixed interval products, high protection level, high degree of automation, and multi-functionality. (2) The independent development capability of enterprises is poor. The industry is characterized by many manufacturers, but few large-scale ones. Most manufacturers have weak technical strength and do not have the ability to independently develop products. They basically produce through industry technology transfer or imitation. Therefore, the product types are concentrated and the market competition is fierce. Although a few enterprises have the ability to develop their own products, due to the long cycle of opening up the market, coupled with various difficulties, and once a certain market scale is formed, other factories can easily imitate and enter the market, which seriously affects the enthusiasm of enterprises to develop their own products. (3) The product quality difference is not large, and there are no famous brands. In order to improve the processing and product quality of enterprises, many manufacturers have introduced high-precision sheet metal processing equipment. However, they are relatively backward in terms of assembly technology, busbar processing technology and equipment. The enterprises are at the same level. Moreover, the best-selling products in China currently have professional profile manufacturers, auxiliary parts manufacturers, and even shell manufacturers. In order to shorten the production cycle and adapt to the needs of the diversified market, many enterprises directly purchase shells for assembly. In this way, even with high-precision sheet metal processing equipment, it is difficult to give full play to their advantages. Under such circumstances, it is difficult to produce high-quality brand-name products. (4) The main problems of low-voltage switchgear itself: ① Materials used in low-voltage switchgear: At present, there are many accidents of low-voltage switchgear caused by the unqualified flame retardancy of insulation materials. The insulation performance of the parts made of insulation materials is poor. This is mainly manifested in the fact that the insulation performance is affected by the failure to perform insulation treatment according to the process requirements, or the insulation performance is significantly reduced due to use in humid conditions. The sealing strips used for waterproofing, dustproofing and improving the protection level are prone to aging and cannot achieve the purpose of long-term use. They generally age and deform within one to two years and cannot achieve the purpose of long-term waterproofing and dustproofing. Copper busbars, the main conductors in low-voltage switchgear, often suffer from low current carrying capacity and overheating due to limitations in processing capabilities and copper content, thus reducing the actual current carrying capacity of the equipment and failing to meet design requirements. ② Auxiliary components used in low-voltage switchgear: These mainly refer to primary and secondary connectors and terminals. Currently, there is a significant gap between my country's primary and secondary connectors and terminals and those from abroad. ③ Components: The inconsistent quality and level of domestically produced components, along with the prevalence of counterfeit and substandard products in the market, is also a major factor affecting the quality of low-voltage switchgear in my country.
