Abstract: This paper introduces the structural composition of the vibratory compaction control system and the basic control process of the system. The vibratory compaction control system was realized by using a programmable logic controller (PLC) and a touch screen (HMI). The system is reliable, easy to operate, highly automated, and has a user-friendly human-machine interface. It has achieved good results in practical applications. Keywords: Vibratory compaction control system, programmable logic controller, touch screen. Vibratory compaction method, also known as vibratory compaction method [1], has the advantages of good reinforcement effect on soft soil foundation, fast speed, wide applicability, and low investment. It is a reliable foundation reinforcement technology and has recently been applied and promoted in China. The main equipment and tools for vibratory compaction construction include vibratory compactors, lifting machinery, water supply system, sewage system, filling machinery, electrical control system and maintenance tools. Among them, the electrical control system is one of the main equipment systems and is responsible for the construction control, power supply and quality monitoring of the entire site. Currently used control systems mostly employ incoming power supplies, relays, buttons, indicator lights, and magnetic starters. Construction workers control the entire construction process via relays based on changes in the densification current. This approach has two drawbacks: firstly, the level of control is not very high, inevitably leading to human error and affecting project quality; secondly, construction data can only be recorded manually, resulting in incomplete data. The electric vibratory compaction control system uses a combination of PLC and touchscreen to control the drilling, filling, and densification processes of the construction piles. Construction workers can directly set construction parameters on the touchscreen and monitor the magnitude and trends of various process parameters and construction progress in real time, achieving alarm and construction data storage functions. 1. Composition and Structural Principle of the Electric Vibratory Compaction Control System The vibratory compaction control system interacts with the vibratory compaction process through various interfaces and peripheral devices, controlling the vibratory compactor's drive motor and setting, controlling, and processing various process parameters. The field control level consists of a PLC, touchscreen, and soft starter. The core controller uses a Siemens S7-200 programmable controller, the human-machine interface uses a Weintek MT-8056 touchscreen, and the motor power starter uses a Xipu STRC soft starter. The specific control process is as follows: (1) Control the STRC soft starter through the interface between the touch screen and the STRC soft starter, thereby controlling the start and stop of the vibratory compactor. (2) Set the construction parameters in the human-machine interface touch screen, such as hole depth, vibratory compaction current and filling amount, etc., and transmit these parameters to the PLC through the interface between the touch screen and the host PLC. Through the internal logic operation of the PLC, convert them into corresponding switch outputs, and then control and monitor certain working states of the vibratory compactor by executing the solenoid valve and working status indicator. (3) At the same time, the PLC transmits the detected vibratory compactor current, filling amount, construction progress status and some action signals to the touch screen. Through the touch screen, not only can various faults be diagnosed and alarmed, but some important working parameters can also be displayed. More importantly, users can adjust the target value of the parameters in real time through the touch screen, thereby achieving the function of real-time monitoring and ensuring the quality and efficiency of construction. The construction data can also be recorded and stored according to the large capacity storage function provided by the MT-8056 touch screen itself for analysis and reference.
