Abstract: This paper studies the design method of vision-based automated guided vehicles (AGVs) and proposes a framework structure for designing a material handling system using AGVs. The system utilizes a wireless transceiver module for real-time wireless communication between master and slave workstations, uses a CCD camera to collect data from road condition guidance patterns laid on the ground, and performs image processing and recognition on the collected information through a microcontroller. Ultimately, the AGV can quickly complete material handling tasks between various destinations without human intervention, following the optimal path. Simultaneously, the main monitoring station transmits the material attribute information to the management information system via a local area network, thus providing a reference for the design and informatization construction of integrated enterprise management . In the past, due to the low operating speed of image acquisition and processing hardware, the use of visual perception to guide electric vehicles for material handling was greatly limited. In recent years, with the development of science and technology, the operating speed of video equipment and computer hardware has greatly improved, and more and more people are investing in research in the field of visual navigation. Research based on application data of guided vehicles provided by material handling research institutions has found that using vision-based automated guided vehicle (AGV) material handling systems has advantages such as saving labor, optimizing production planning, and improving handling safety.
