Sanshui City is a county-level city in Guangdong Province. Its power grid includes one 220 kV substation, nine 110 kV substations, two 35 kV substations, and three thermal power plants with a total installed capacity of 180 MW. The maximum load on the regional power grid is 200 MW. By the end of 2000, the city's total power supply was 1.28 TWh. Excluding user substations, remote control coverage reached 100%. Currently, except for the 220 kV substation, all substations are unmanned. The Sanshui Power Bureau's automation equipment is the SINAUTSPECTRUMSCADA system from Siemens, Germany, introduced in 1993. However, with the rapid development of the power grid, the system capacity and functions are far from meeting the needs of grid development. Data processing speed is slow, the Chinese software is incomplete, expansion capabilities are poor, and spare parts are no longer produced, affecting system operation. After careful research, the OPEN-2000 system from NARI Group's power grid control company was selected and officially put into operation in July 2000. This marked the first application of the OPEN-2000 system in a county-level power grid. The commissioning of OPEN-2000 and the INAUTSPECTRUM system at different times has greatly improved the level of dispatch automation system. The following introduces the functions and features of the OPEN-2000 system and its application in the Sanshui City power grid. 1 Introduction to NARI OPEN-2000 1.1 System Design Philosophy The system adopts a fully distributed network architecture and a client/server data management model. Each channel can independently send and receive multiple communication protocols, satisfying openness. It adopts an open operating mechanism that supports multiple operating system platforms, enabling mutual access with other open systems, facilitating system integration and a unified user interface. All interfaces adopt a graphical software (Mo-tif) style. 1.2 System Hardware The system hardware utilizes a 100 Mbit/s dual-network operation. The computers are SUN Microsystems ULTRA60/330 series. The CRTs use dual 54 cm monitors with a resolution of 1280×1024. Two high-speed, high-capacity SUN Microsystems E450/400 servers are configured, integrated with a disk array to achieve server hot standby and data hot backup. Connection to the Management Information System (MIS) network is via a web server accessing the local area network (LAN). The MIS end directly accesses real-time graphic data through a browser, which is convenient, reliable, and achieves maintenance-free MIS operation. 1.3 System Software OPEN-2000 uses a fully localized Chinese UNIX operating system, a multi-user, multi-tasking network operating system. The Realbase real-time database management system is a client/server database management system independently developed by NARI Technology. Commercial database management uses Sybase, a relational database that supports SQL query language access, currently the most efficient. The core programs are all written in the object-oriented C++ programming language. The network uses TCP/IP, X. 25. It supports standard communication protocols such as Ethereum, enabling effective communication with wide area networks. The graphical system is a fully graphical, fully localized system developed using object-oriented technology, based on an operating system/graphics software (OSF/Motif). It boasts rich functionality, simple operation, flexible display, and fast response. 2 Functions and Features of the OPEN-2000 System OPEN-2000 incorporates the functions and features of SINAUTSPECTRUM, and also has the following innovations: a) It can use servers and workstations from different manufacturers (such as DEL, ALPHA RISC, SUN, IBM, HP, etc.), not limited to equipment from a single manufacturer, facilitating spare parts storage; b) It adopts a combination of distributed real-time database and commercial database technology to fully guarantee the real-time requirements of data, while strongly supporting data archiving, statistical work, and remote SQL standard queries; c) The front-end system uses a terminal server, ensuring the accuracy, reliability, and flexibility of data transmission and reception, convenient maintenance, and low failure rate; d) The system's graphics and real-time information can be viewed through a web browser, facilitating queries by relevant personnel and providing rich data for real-time decision-making by leaders; e) The zeroing range of each value can be set, setting quantities that are close to zero to 0, preventing misjudgments by dispatchers regarding whether equipment is running due to zero drift; f) Provides database-based accident replay functionality. When an accident occurs, the database automatically saves all data within a certain timeframe before and after the accident, providing a basis for accident analysis; g) Supports multiple network protocols and can interconnect with other computer networks using different network communication protocols according to user requirements, enabling the Sanshui Power Bureau's MIS network to be well integrated; h) The front-end unit has a rich protocol library and can accept various domestic and internationally common cyclic access/question-response remote control protocols (CDT and Polling), without limiting the application of other RTUs due to protocol issues. 3 Conclusion a) Since its commissioning, the Sanshui Power Bureau's OPEN-2000 system has been operating well. The system is flexible and convenient to operate, simple to maintain, and the telemetry, remote signaling, and remote control data processing is correct. The system's features have been fully utilized, and no misjudgments or misoperations have occurred due to system problems, ensuring the reliable and safe operation of the power grid. It plays a very important role in realizing unmanned operation of substations, reducing personnel and increasing efficiency. b) OPEN-2000, as a newly developed energy management system, absorbed advanced technologies from domestic and international dispatch automation systems at different times, and summarized a set of automation systems suitable for my country's dispatch system. This is very attractive to county-level dispatch agencies, therefore, this system is more suitable for county-level dispatch agencies. References: [1] Zhang Jizhong, Liu Zhixiong, Fang Fuqi.
