Research on Wireless Distributed Sensor Network Control System Based on LabVIEW

Abstract: In order to meet the wireless communication between instruments and the unified management and control of experimental data in the wireless distributed sensor network, LabVIEW was used as the development tool, and PC multi-threading technology and virtual instrument technology were adopted to build a control system of the wireless distributed sensor network based on LabVIEW. The hardware composition and software design method of the control system were described, and the characteristics of data display, analysis, storage and communication under the LabVIEW platform were analyzed. Keywords: wireless distributed sensor network, main base station node 0 Introduction At present, wireless distributed sensor networks have been widely used in industrial measurement and control due to their variability, dynamism and energy saving[1]. In the field where centralized sensing and control are required, there is a great demand for wireless distributed sensor networks. In the laboratory, instruments or measuring tools are mostly placed and operated independently. Building a wireless distributed sensor network can realize networked measurement and centralized management of equipment, which greatly improves the utilization efficiency of equipment. This paper describes a method of using the graphical programming language LabVIEW[2] to design the host computer (PC) control system of the network, and realize the unified management, control and centralized processing of measurement data of each node sensor and measuring equipment in the wireless distributed sensor network. 1 Wireless Distributed Sensor Network 1.1 System Architecture of Wireless Distributed Sensor Network To maximize network versatility and meet the requirements of different measurement environments, two network architectures need to be considered when designing a wireless distributed sensor network: First, a typical star topology is used in small-scale networks; second, a mesh topology is used in large-scale, multi-node, and densely distributed environments. The small-scale network implemented in this paper adopts a star topology, consisting of one PC, one master base station, and multiple nodes (including base station nodes and terminal nodes). The PC is the network monitoring center. The master base station broadcasts information to achieve data transmission and command control. Terminal devices can be directly controlled by the master base station or indirectly controlled by the master base station through base station nodes, thus constructing a wireless distributed sensor network, as shown in Figure 1. This paper mainly studies the hardware and software design of the master base station and the host computer.
