Research on Data Acquisition Module of Intelligent AC Contactor

Abstract: AC contactors are indispensable low-voltage electrical appliances widely used in power systems and automation control systems. However, traditional contactors are characterized by limited functionality, high power consumption, high noise levels, easy contact burnout, and short lifespan. With the rapid development of science and technology, the performance requirements of power grids and other control and protection circuits for AC contactors are increasing, leading to the desire to design and manufacture AC contactors that are small in size, lightweight, long-lasting, highly accurate and reliable, energy-efficient, communicative, and reasonably priced. This research project has significant economic and social application value. This paper mainly introduces the design of a data acquisition module for an intelligent contactor, and the acquisition of digital and analog signals. Abstract: AC contactors are widely used in power systems and automatic control systems. However, traditional contactors consume too much energy, make loud noise, and have short lifespans. Usually, a contactor only has one single function. With the development of science, high demands are brought forward in power systems and control systems. Contactors with higher performance are needed, including smaller dimensions, lighter weight, higher precision, higher reliability, and communication services. This research has significant economic and social importance. This paper is about the data collection modularization of an intelligent AC contactor. Introduction Electrical intelligence is a product of the combination of modern science and technology and traditional electrical technology. It integrates various disciplines such as traditional electrical appliances, computers and digital control, microelectronics technology, power electronics technology, computer communication and networks, and modern sensor technology. Intelligent electrical appliances have the function of automatically monitoring and identifying fault types and operation command types, and can control the operation mechanism of electrical components according to the fault and operation command categories. Accurate and rapid acquisition of field parameters is fundamental for intelligent electrical appliances to make correct judgments. However, field parameters are generally high-voltage and high-current parameters. For 5V or 3.3V control systems, technical processing is required. This paper proposes a method for acquiring high-voltage and high-current electrical parameters. 2. Functional Analysis of Intelligent Contactors The main task of intelligent contactors is to acquire three-phase AC current, three-phase AC voltage, and motor temperature, providing overload protection, undervoltage protection, overvoltage protection, and phase loss protection for the motor. Intelligent contactors have an external keyboard and display and can communicate with a host computer. Based on the above analysis, the design task can be divided into three parts: field parameter acquisition and detection; monitoring unit design; and communication.
