1. High Luminous Efficiency: After decades of technological improvements, LEDs have achieved significantly higher luminous efficiency. Incandescent and halogen lamps have an efficiency of 12-24 lumens/watt, fluorescent lamps 50-70 lumens/watt, and sodium lamps 90-140 lumens/watt, with most of their power consumption being heat loss. Improved LEDs will achieve an efficiency of 50-200 lumens/watt, and their light has good monochromaticity and a narrow spectrum, emitting colored visible light directly without filtering. Currently, countries worldwide are accelerating research to improve LED luminous efficiency, and further improvements are expected in the near future. 2. Low Power Consumption: A single LED has a power of 0.03-0.06 watts, uses DC drive, a single-tube drive voltage of 1.5-3.5 volts, and a current of 15-18 mA, resulting in fast response and high-frequency operation. For the same lighting effect, LEDs consume one-eighth the power of incandescent bulbs and half the power of fluorescent tubes. Japan estimates that if LEDs, with twice the luminous efficiency of fluorescent lamps, were used, half of Japan's incandescent and fluorescent lamps could be replaced. It can save the equivalent of 6 billion liters of crude oil annually. For example, a fluorescent lamp with the same effect consumes over 40 watts, while an LED lamp only consumes 8 watts and can change colors. 3. Long lifespan: Electron light field radiation lamps suffer from drawbacks such as easy burnout, heat deposition, and light decay. LED lamps are small, lightweight, and epoxy-encapsulated, able to withstand high-intensity mechanical impacts and vibrations, making them less prone to breakage. The average lifespan reaches 100,000 hours. LED lamps can last 5-10 years, significantly reducing maintenance costs and avoiding frequent lamp replacements. 4. High safety and reliability: Low heat generation, no heat radiation, cold light source, safe to touch; precise control of light pattern and emission angle, soft light color, no glare; free of mercury, sodium, and other potentially harmful substances. The built-in microprocessor system can control luminous intensity and adjust the emission mode, achieving a combination of light and art. 5. Environmentally friendly: LEDs are all solid-state light emitters, shock-resistant, impact-resistant, and not easily broken. Waste is recyclable and pollution-free. The light source is small in size, can be freely combined, and is easy to develop into lightweight, thin, and compact lighting products. It is also easy to install and maintain. Of course, energy saving is the main reason why we consider using LED light sources. Although LED light sources may be more expensive than traditional light sources, the investment in the light source can be recovered in one year due to energy saving, thus obtaining a net energy saving benefit of several times per year for 4 to 9 years.
