Intelligent temperature measurement and control system based on CAN bus

Abstract : This paper introduces a temperature measurement and control system based on CAN (Controller Area Network) bus. The CAN bus connects various temperature acquisition and control modules to a host computer, enabling the system to not only perform basic temperature measurement and control functions but also centralized monitoring, parameter setting, data management, and report printing, thus improving work efficiency. The paper focuses on its hardware configuration and software design. This paper studies a flexible and versatile temperature measurement and control system that uses CAN bus for data communication between measurement and control systems. In this system, we simultaneously use a platinum resistance temperature sensor (Pt100) and a single-bus digital temperature sensor (DS18B20) to adapt to different application needs and facilitate system interconnection. The sensor output is converted into a standard voltage or current signal, which is then converted into a digital quantity via an A/D converter. The digital signal is transmitted to the microcontroller, which finally sends the acquired data to the CAN bus controller. The data is then transmitted to the CAN bus transceiver, completing the data acquisition process.

1. Selection of Overall Scheme for Temperature Measurement and Control System
Based on the application requirements, this temperature measurement and control system mainly performs the following functions: detecting the signal of the Pt100 thermocouple temperature sensor; detecting temperature using the DS18B20 digital temperature sensor; displaying the digital temperature signal on an LED screen, printing temperature change curves using a micro printer, and providing keyboard control functions; the master station communicates with the slave device via a CAN bus to monitor the entire system. The system mainly consists of a monitoring module, a temperature measurement module, a field display module, and a CAN bus communication module.
