Moxa announced that the ESS-510A is the first managed industrial Ethernet switch on the market to be labeled with the IPv6 logo. Obtaining the IPv6 Ready logo certification means that the EDS-510A is compatible with the mandatory IPv6 core protocol and other IPv6-compliant devices. IPv6 was designed to address the global IP address shortage, providing 128-bit addresses and supporting unimpeded network traffic and bidirectional communication. Industrial Ethernet networks support the next-generation IP protocol, and the EDS-510A offers worry-free automatic IP address configuration, maximum security, and built-in QoS.
The biggest advantage of using IPv6 is its ability to support additional address space. The Moxa EDS-510A supports a dual-stack transition architecture, supporting both IPv4 and IPv6, so users don't need to worry about upgrading their network equipment in the coming years. Through automatic IP address allocation and IPsec security authentication, the EDS-510A ensures secure and flexible communication on industrial networks. Furthermore, IPv6 packet labeling provides improved Quality of Service (QoS) traffic prioritization.
