Abstract : The continuous development of wireless sensor networks and their broad application prospects have attracted increasing attention. With the increasing demands for coal mine safety, applying wireless sensor networks to mines to achieve precise positioning and tracking of underground personnel is of great significance. This paper uses a corridor as a confined space to simulate the experimental conditions of a roadway and designs and implements a precise positioning system based on a wireless sensor network. Keywords : Wireless sensor network; mine; signal strength; positioning 1. Introduction In recent years, coal mine accidents have occurred frequently, and coal mine safety has gradually become a major concern. Currently, there are many problems in the coal mine production process, such as the inability of surface managers to keep track of the distribution and operation of underground workers in real time, resulting in low production efficiency; and when accidents occur, the lack of precise location information for underground workers causes many inconveniences for rescue work. Therefore, establishing a simple, fast, accurate, and practical underground personnel positioning system is of great significance for realizing the informatization and modernization of coal mine management and ensuring the efficient operation of emergency rescue and safety relief.
