The Mentor II all-digital DC drive offers a wide power range, comprehensive programmable logic, and a unified control interface. It meets simple, stand-alone applications with minimal parameters. The local intelligent module (MD29) enables high-performance drive applications. A distributed intelligent system using CTNet and the System Programming Tool (SYPT) can replace the PLC master control mode. Multiple bus adapters are provided for integration with the main PLC system.
Control strategy • Microprocessor-based control circuit • Analog speed given with a resolution of 0.025%
• Logical key programming • Utilizes tachometer feedback; speed maintenance rate remains at 0.1% even with 100% load variation.
• Advanced self-diagnostic functions • Loss of excitation protection • Software scalability • Overload protection • Inverter voltage up to 1.15 x Vrms
• Feedback loss protection • Serial communication interface RS232/RS485
• Phase loss protection • Non-volatile memory for parameter storage • 150% overload duration for 30 seconds • Single-quadrant and four-quadrant modules • Taper current limiting • Phase sequence tolerance • Armature current rate of change limiting

Emerson CT DC speed controller fault analysis:

When a governor malfunction is detected by abnormal phenomena during diesel engine speed changes, first check and eliminate other factors. If the governor still malfunctions after these are eliminated, then the problem lies with the governor itself. The main faults include:

      1. Diesel engine idling or speed oscillation
1) Roller: The speed changes rhythmically. Manually stopping the speed regulator can eliminate the speed fluctuations, but the rhythmic speed fluctuations will return after releasing the regulator.
2) Speed oscillation: The speed changes rhythmically with large amplitude. Manually stopping the speed governor can eliminate the oscillation, and the speed will not immediately oscillate again after releasing the governor. However, it will still occur after adjustment or load change.
3) Causes of oscillation in the speed or rotation of the motor
(1) Feedback system failure
(2) Adjusting rod, high-pressure oil pump idle
(3) The governor oil is too dirty or the oil level is too low.
(4) Internal fault of speed controller

2. Speed controller output shaft vibration (high-frequency vibration)
reason:
1) The speed controller drive is unstable, such as due to wear of the drive shaft splines.
2) Failure of the flexible drive mechanism of the heavy-duty aircraft
3) The speed governor was not evenly tightened on the support.

3. Diesel engines cannot reach full speed and full load.
The main causes are jamming of the fuel regulator system and improper matching between the governor output shaft and the fuel injection pump throttle setting (which can also lead to starting overspeed or inability to stop).

4. The high-pressure oil pump rack cannot be pulled open in time when the diesel engine is started.
reason:
1) Poor performance of the boost servo
2) The oil cut-off mechanism failed to reset.
3) Low oil pressure in the governor
