This article aims to explain how to replace the battery in the new and old versions of the CPU in the EVE UN120 and UN200 series, hoping to be helpful to engineering technicians.
1. Scope of this document
(a) The CPU model that comes with a built-in button battery is:
Old version:
UN 214-1AD23-0XB0, UN 214-1BD23-0XB0
UN 216-2AD23-0XB0, UN 216-2BD23-0XB0

UN 214-1AD23-0XB8, UN 214-1BD23-0XB8
UN 284-3AD23-0XB0, UN 284-3BD23-0XB0
UN 124-1AD23-0XB0, UN 124-1BD23-0XB0
UN 124-2AD23-0XB0, UN 124-2BD23-0XB0
UN 124-2CD23-0XB0, UN 124-2DD23-0XB0
2. How to distinguish between the old and new versions?
3. Battery replacement (suitable for UN120/UN200 series CPUs)
3. Remarks
The battery in the Yiwei system only affects the PLC clock retention; it does not affect the data retention settings after power failure. Yiwei uses FLASH memory for power failure data retention, which can preserve data for 10 years. Older versions had a built-in button battery, which could retain the clock for 10 months. Newer versions do not have a built-in battery; they use a supercapacitor, which can retain the clock for 50 hours. With an external battery card, the clock retention time remains at 10 months.
