1. Product OverviewThe IM260 is an interface module that connects the UN200 module to a PROFIBUS-DP network (i.e., the IM260 connects to the UN200 module via a serial I/O bus). The PROFIBUS network connects to the IM260 module via its DP communication port, which can operate at any PROFIBUS baud rate between 9600 baud and 12 MHz. As a modular slave device in a PROFIBUS DP network, the IM260 module can be expanded with seven digital or analog inputs and outputs to send and receive varying amounts of data to and from the master station. This feature allows users to replace different 200 series modules to meet specific application needs.2. Product Appearance3. Technical parameters4. Pin Definitions5. Address setting switchIf the STEP7 software IM260 address is set to 65, the high-order address of IM260 should be set to 6, and the low-order address should be set to 5.6. Product Application:Before using IM260, the corresponding GSD file for IM260 needs to be installed on the software. The IM260 module GSD file is named "PROFIBUS-DP Interface Module (IM260) GSD File" and can be downloaded from www.unimat.com.cn. Through the IM260 interface module, a master station in a PROFIBUS-DP network can remotely operate the I/O ports of the UN200 expansion module. Through the DP port of the IM260 slave module, it can connect to a DP master station in a PROFIBUS-DP network and communicate with other DP masters on the same network, such as the 315-2DP. The following diagram shows a basic PROFIBUS-DP network diagram for IM260 communication.7. LED Indicator Description:The IM260 module has four status LEDs on the front panel to indicate the operating status of the DP port:After the 200 CPU is powered on, the DX MODE light remains off until DP communication begins.Once DP communication is successfully initialized (when the IM 260 PROFIBUS-DP module enters the state of exchanging data with the master station), the DX MODE light turns green until the data exchange ends.If DP communication is interrupted, forcing the IM260 module to exit data exchange mode, the DX MODE light turns off and the DP/ERROR light turns red. This state remains until the 200 CPU is powered off or data exchange resumes. If there is a problem with the I/O configuration written by the master station to the IM260 module or the parameter information is incorrect, the DP ERROR light will flash red.If there is no DC 24V power supply, the POWER light will be off.If you like this article, long press this image to scan the QR code and follow us!
