Step-by-step guide to setting up and wiring terminal controls for Yiwei frequency converters

The Yiwei UT500 series vector inverter has three operation control methods: keyboard control, terminal control, and RS485 communication port control. This article mainly introduces the wiring and instructions for selecting external terminal control and using PLC transistor output control for Yiwei inverters. The PLC digital output (DO) controls the inverter operation, and the analog output (AO) controls the inverter operating frequency.

1. Product Model

Inverter: UT512-2R2G1-1XA0 220V

CPU: UN 214-1AD23-0XB0

Module: UN 235-0KD22-0XA0

2. Address allocation

There are 3 output points: inverter forward rotation: Q0.0, inverter reverse rotation: Q0.1, inverter stop: Q0.2;

One analog output. Frequency setting: AQW4.

3. Hardware wiring

Note: Multi-function output terminals X1~X6 can be selected as NPN or PNP transistor signals as input. The bias power supply can be selected as an external power supply (PLC terminal). The factory default '24V' is shorted to 'PLC'. The Yiwei 214 transistor output is in PNP form, as shown in the figure below:

Given the frequency, select the voltage output (0~10V) of the 235-0KD22 module, or select 0~20mA output, corresponding to the frequency range of the frequency converter of 0~50Hz.

4. Inverter operating parameter settings

Select 1 terminal control: The operation and stop of the frequency converter and the direction control terminal are controlled by switching the forward or reverse rotation terminal on and off with (COM).

In this example, the operation control terminals X1, X2, and X3 are used.

5. Inverter frequency selection settings

In this example, the 0~10V output from the 235 module is used to control the given frequency (0~50Hz) of the frequency converter.
