As we all know, UPS stands for "Uninterruptible Power Supply System," which is responsible for providing continuous power to the original load almost without interruption in the event of a power outage. It plays a crucial role in ensuring the normal operation of computers, preventing the loss of information and data, and protecting the equipment. So, what should be considered when choosing an installation environment for UPS? This article provides a report for you.
1. Ensure good ventilation, clean equipment, and unobstructed air vents. A passage at least 1000 mm wide should be provided in front of the equipment for easy access, and at least 400 mm of space should be provided above the cabinet for ventilation.
2. The equipment and the surrounding ground are clean, tidy, and free of debris, and are not prone to dust generation.
3. There should be no corrosive or acidic gases around the device.
4. The indoor lighting is sufficient, the insulation mats are intact and in good condition, and the necessary safety equipment and fire-fighting equipment are complete and correctly placed.
5. The temperature of the air entering the UPS should not exceed 35℃.
6. All screens and cabinets should be clean and free of dust and debris. Flammable and explosive materials are strictly prohibited from being stored inside.
7. Locations free from conductive and explosive dust, and free from gases that corrode or damage insulation.
8. The location of use should be free from strong vibrations and impacts.
9. The installation site should be free of conductive particles, explosive dust, severe mold, corrosive gases, and gases that damage insulation.
10. The optimal operating temperature for the battery compartment/cabinet is 20°C–25°C; otherwise, the lifespan of the battery and the main unit will be reduced accordingly.
