A Brief Discussion on the Three Components of Digital Factory Solutions

2026-04-06 05:58:49 · · #1

Digital factories, based on data related to the entire product lifecycle, simulate, evaluate, and optimize the entire production process in a computer virtual environment, and further extend to a new production organization method covering the entire product lifecycle. Digital factories primarily bridge the "gap" between product design and manufacturing, realizing functions in all aspects of the product lifecycle, including design, manufacturing, assembly, and logistics. This reduces uncertainty between design and production, compresses and advances the manufacturing process in a virtual environment, and allows for evaluation and verification, thereby shortening the time from product design to production and improving product reliability and success.

Factory layout planning and simulation

The factory layout planning and simulation uses the independently developed VR-Layout 3D virtual layout platform, which replaces the traditional 2D environment with a 3D immersive virtual environment for layout planning. It establishes 3D digital models of production resources such as factory structure, cranes, equipment, tooling, robots , logistics containers, marking lines, and conveyor lines, and realizes interactive facility layout and roaming, which greatly improves the efficiency of layout planning.

Logistics process simulation

Based on commercial logistics simulation tools, we model and simulate the logistics planning of production workshops. We simulate the operation of processing equipment, material buffer zones, and logistics equipment in the workshop during the production process, analyze problems such as material blockage, cycle imbalance, and equipment waiting, and submit analysis reports, including capacity analysis, evaluation and optimization of logistics paths, selection and evaluation of material conveying system control schemes, evaluation of processing procedures, flow and bottleneck analysis of logistics paths, and utilization rate of processing equipment.

Assembly process simulation

Assembly process simulation simulates the assembly operations of products or components in a 3D virtual environment, including defining the assembly sequence, defining the assembly path, and simulating human-machine operation. Assembly process simulation minimizes operation time and meets production cycle requirements by rationally arranging equipment within workstations; simultaneously, it performs ergonomic analysis of worker assembly operations to prevent accidents caused by operator fatigue.
