Electric motor losses and efficiency:

When an electric motor converts electrical energy into mechanical energy, it also consumes some energy itself. These losses can generally be divided into winding losses, core losses, windage losses, and load stray losses.

The efficiency of an electric motor is the ratio of effective output power to input power. Effective output power is the difference between input power and the motor's own power consumption. Effectively reducing its own power consumption can improve the motor's efficiency.

High-efficiency electric motors:

High-efficiency electric motors (YX, YX series, etc.) generally refer to high-efficiency three-phase asynchronous motors. These are electric motors whose efficiency levels meet or exceed the energy-saving evaluation values specified in the national standard for electric motor energy efficiency (GB18613-2002).

National standard for energy efficiency of electric motors:

The national standard for electric motor energy efficiency is "Minimum Allowable Values of Energy Efficiency and Energy Saving Evaluation Values for Small and Medium-Sized Three-Phase Asynchronous Motors," with the national standard number GB18613-2002. It was issued by the State Administration for Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine on January 10, 2002, and implemented on August 1, 2002. The minimum allowable values of energy efficiency are the minimum permissible values for electric motor efficiency and are mandatory indicators; the energy saving evaluation values are the certification values for high-efficiency electric motors and are recommended indicators.

Selection of high-efficiency electric motors :

High-efficiency motors should be considered in the following situations: (1) When a new motor is needed for a new project; (2) When an old motor is damaged or needs to be rewound; (3) When a motor needs to be replaced after long-term operation under low or overload conditions.

Energy-saving effect of high-efficiency electric motors:

Compared with ordinary motors, high-efficiency motors have optimized overall design, selected high-quality copper windings and silicon steel sheets, reduced various losses by 20%-30%, and increased efficiency by 2%-7%; the investment payback period is generally 1-2 years, and some are as short as a few months.
