With the advancement of urbanization and the improvement of residents' living standards, elevators have become an indispensable vertical transportation tool in people's production and daily life. It is understood that China currently has the largest number of elevators in the world. Along with the explosive growth in elevator usage, the number of elevator accidents remains high, making elevator maintenance and upkeep increasingly important. The main causes of elevator accidents include improper operation, equipment defects, and accidents. To effectively prevent elevator accidents, in addition to manufacturers optimizing technology and maintenance organizations strengthening elevator maintenance, manufacturers can use Internet of Things (IoT) technology to monitor elevator operating parameters. Through data collection, timely feedback, and data analysis, predictive diagnostics and maintenance can be achieved, nipping potential elevator safety hazards in the bud.
With the maturity of IoT communication technology, especially the application of NB-IoT technology, the signal coverage problem in elevator shafts and cars will be solved. The "ubiquitous connectivity" concept of IoT will play an important role in high-density elevator monitoring. Yike's IoT hardware and software solution provides data acquisition hardware based on operator communication networks. Through data interface and data acquisition address configuration, it can collect and transmit elevator operating parameters. Simultaneously, based on the accompanying IoT management software platform's mobile information push, viewing, and management functions, as well as customized design and development capabilities, users can centrally monitor and manage multiple elevators.
1. IoT hardware development and integration design
Leveraging the I/O expansion capabilities of the Yike IoT core board, Yike can provide most elevator controllers with an RS485 interface supporting the Modbus protocol, thereby enabling the collection of various basic elevator data. In narrowband applications, IoT smart terminals can collect relevant elevator control and operating parameters and perform some image acquisition and transmission, providing image reference support for elevator maintenance. In broadband applications, video acquisition technology can be integrated to achieve a dual-visual monitoring solution of parameters and scenes, as shown in Figure 1.
Furthermore, the R&D team of Yike IoT solutions considered the continuous upgrading of IoT technology (NB-IoT) in the future from the initial design stage. Therefore, the solution can smoothly upgrade the system to the latest narrowband IoT by replacing the communication module and the matching IoT card, further expanding the access points in the local area and ensuring signal stability.
2. Internet of Things (IoT) Management Platform Services
To maximize the efficiency and accuracy of daily elevator management and ensure timely handling of alarm information, Yike leverages the API interfaces provided by its Remote core hardware management service platform to help users develop IoT management enabling platforms or...
The relevant platform software is deployed, managed, and maintained by the user according to their needs, as shown in Figure 2. The platform's REST API interface can meet the data access needs of different users, supporting elevator maintenance users' use and maintenance management, and also providing some interfaces for equipment manufacturing enterprises to facilitate efficient after-sales service, thereby maximizing the role of the overall IoT solution.
3. Customized traffic and tariff management services
Yike's IoT solutions are based on carrier networks, reducing users' expenses on local network construction and maintenance; they enable plug-and-play terminal devices for convenience and speed; at the same time, they can match IoT cards from different carriers (without real-name authentication) to meet user needs, and provide comprehensive service support such as traffic pools for operation and maintenance needs, allowing users to achieve maximum efficiency at the lowest cost.
The elevator operation monitoring application scenario design is shown in Figure 3.
To facilitate user management, Yike has developed an infrastructure management service platform software that can process the collected data into charts and graphs and provide map GIS services, thereby presenting the elevator monitoring status, alarm information, etc. more intuitively and achieving more efficient management.
Yike's IoT hardware and software integrated solution is based on powerful and low-power IoT core hardware, a fully functional software system platform, and customized design and development capabilities. It can provide a complete IoT solution for upgrading and transforming existing equipment, help achieve efficient elevator monitoring, and provide strong IoT technical support for the long-term stable and safe operation of elevators.
Based on the communication and data address configuration of the basic configuration template, the system can collect and upload relevant information according to the set frequency and time, and can also parse the data definitions of different brands to achieve intuitive monitoring of elevator operating parameters.
