With the widespread application of servo motors in industry, the design and research of high dynamic performance servo drives and servo motors will inevitably become a research hotspot in China. At the same time, how to improve the dynamic characteristics of servo motors has also become an urgent problem to be solved.
The performance indicators of a servo system during dynamic adjustment are called dynamic performance indicators, such as overshoot, following speed, following accuracy, settling time, and anti-interference capability.
Servo systems were first applied in the military and aerospace fields. With the progress of industrialization, they have gradually entered the industrial and civilian fields. In production practice, the application of servo systems is already very widespread.
1. In CNC machine tools, the use of high-end permanent magnet AC servos instead of asynchronous frequency converters seems to have become the standard. Since the 1990s, European and American countries have been committed to developing and applying high-speed CNC machine tools, which have greatly improved the feed speed of the worktable at the same resolution. Today's CNC machine tools emphasize high speed, high precision, high dynamics, and high rigidity. We have seen the application of domestically produced servos in economical CNC machine tools, but domestically produced servos still do not meet the requirements in mid-to-high-end machine tools. Performance is an important aspect, but stability and brand effect are also obstacles that cannot be overcome in the short term.
2. Robotics is another field where servo systems are widely used. Industrial robots have multiple degrees of freedom, therefore each industrial robot requires at least 3-4 servo motors, and sometimes more than 10. Currently, the number of industrial robots exceeds 1 million units, and the annual demand continues to increase significantly. Most international industrial robot giants have their own dedicated servo systems, and in recent years, some domestic servo manufacturers have also begun to enter the robotics industry, although there is still a considerable gap in performance.
3. The application rate of servo systems in the textile industry is very low. To improve production efficiency, some textile machinery has begun to adopt high-end servo technology, but price factors have prevented the widespread adoption of servo systems in the textile industry. If domestically produced servo systems can maintain their price advantage while improving product performance, it will greatly promote the development of the entire industry.
In addition, printing machinery, packaging machinery, medical equipment, metallurgical machinery, and automated production lines all have a significant demand for servo systems. This demonstrates the importance of improving the performance of servo systems for the development of various industries.
