The K-series reducer is the only bevel gear reducer among the four major reducer series. Its fundamental difference from other reducers lies in its internal gear structure. The internal gear structure is a bevel gear, and this bevel gear configuration can only be used for vertical output. Therefore, its output is right-angled, meaning the angle between the reducer's output shaft and input shaft is 90°. While the K-series reducer looks very similar to the S-series reducer, their internal structures are different. The S-series reducer uses a helical-worm gear reducer structure. Disassembling the internal structures for comparison is necessary to better distinguish their essential differences.

There are at least 10 basic types of K-series gear reducers , all of which are foot-mounted. These include: GK...foot-mounted helical and bevel gear reducers; GKA...B foot-mounted hollow shaft helical gear reducers; GKV...B foot-mounted splined hollow shaft reducers; GKH...B foot-mounted hollow shaft with locking disc; GKF (B5 flange mounting); GKAF (B5 flange hollow shaft mounting); GKVF (B5 flanged splined hollow shaft); GKHF (B5 flanged hollow shaft with locking disc); GKA hollow shaft; GKV splined hollow shaft; GKH hollow shaft with locking disc; GKT hollow shaft with torque arm mounting; GKAZ (B14 flanged hollow shaft mounting); GKVZ (B14 flanged splined hollow shaft mounting); and GKHZ (B14 flanged hollow shaft with locking disc). There are quite a few basic types, and hollow shaft reducers make up the majority. These gear reducers can be combined with other gear reducers to form two-stage gear reducers. Two-stage gear reducers can have very high reduction ratios and are used in applications with high workloads. The type of gear reducer to use can be determined based on your specific requirements.

Like other gear reducers, the K-series reducers offer six installation orientations, from M1 to M6. However, similar to the two previously mentioned reducers, not all bevel gear reducers can accommodate all six orientations. All K-series reducers can accommodate M1 installation, which is the default. However, to use M2-M6 installations, two conditions must be met: the reducer must be a model K77, K87, K97, or K107 with an input speed greater than 2500 rpm; or the reducer model greater than K107 must have an input speed greater than 1500 rpm. In these two cases, a non-M1 installation is acceptable. Before purchasing, you must clearly indicate your desired installation orientation to the relevant personnel; otherwise, the default M1 installation orientation will be used.

Regarding the size of the speed reducer , you might think that K-series speed reducers are generally quite large, but there are also smaller ones. The smallest commonly used model is the K37, with dimensions of 210mm (length), 220mm (width), and 100mm (height). The largest commonly used model is the K187 speed reducer, with dimensions of 946mm (length), 1341mm (width), and 942mm (height).

The dimensional differences between reducers of different sizes within the same series are quite significant. The unit of measurement for dimensions is mm (mm). All models of this gear reducer can be paired with a 0.12LW geared motor, meaning the smallest motor power it can be paired with is 0.12KW. The maximum motor power it can be paired with is 200KW, and only models K187, K167, and K157 can be paired with 200KW motors. However, the use of 200KW motors is relatively rare, generally found in heavy industrial equipment. Therefore, this matching method is not commonly used.
